Building a unified solution for airport proactive security
Growing passenger volume forced Mexico Airport management, the main and the busiest international airport in Mexico and Latin America, to start building a truly modern security system. The one that would have made security management more unified, be able to combine the existing analog infrastructure with the new IP, and complement it with intelligent video analytics. As a response to the challenge, Airport’s integrator LTP Global Software chose to create AI-powered unified video security solution.
It was decided to create 2 Command and Control Monitoring Centers in two terminals for managing all the operations across all cameras: starting with security check points and waiting zones and shops, to the airport perimeter, the airfield itself and runway. This lets security operators handle all the events within one framework, not switching from one system or screen to another during the incident. It allows all the incidents to be monitored and controlled on one system to avoid inconvenience and disruption while following the event from the cameras of one video management system to another.
From a just CCTV to AI-powered unified security
Faced with such responsibility, airport management and security department have created two new management airport centers: one in each terminal, installing 2300 cutting edge surveillance cameras in an advanced video management system, IP metadata processing, and artificial intelligence.
A control room has been set up to detect and prevent security breaches to quickly pass useful information to the federal police. VMS by AxxonSoft - the intelligent video management platform, enables users to perform unique video analysis tasks and optimizes search functions. It includes special analytic tools, such as 3D interactive maps, license plate recognition, Moment Quest forensic search, people detection and monitoring, motion detection, facial recognition, and much more.
- 800 new IP cameras, integrates 1 400 existing analog and IP cameras
- 2 Command and Control Monitoring Centers
- Forensic Area for video management and investigation
The system will be expanded in future.
Central overview and fewer incidents
AI-powered unified Video Management System now makes the overall security system at Mexico City Airport much more efficient. It meets the main goal set - to ensure passengers’ and personnels’ safety at the site. As a result, the airport now is seamlessly monitored everywhere, inside and outside, across all terminals, from the security and personal baggage checks to the airport perimeter itself. There are no more blind spots. Every zone is monitored and controlled on one system to avoid disruption, following the event from the cameras of one video management system to another. AxxonSoft benefits to help centrally command and coordinate security personnel, making sure that airport expansion would not compromise its security.
